Judy Ann Mendoza was born on April 21, 1950 in Lafayette, Louisiana to Herbert and Dora Castille. Judy was the type of person that held tight to those she loved and once she considered you family or friend, you were family or friend forever. She had a kind heart and was always wanting to take care of and be there for others. Judy was given great strength and courage from God which allowed her to fight through life’s obstacles that came her way. She always had a smile on her face that could brighten up anyone’s day and make them feel welcome. Judy loved flowers and enjoyed growing them in her garden and watching the birds that flew around them. Her greatest joy, however, was that of spending time with her family especially her grandchildren whom she adored. Judy touched the lives of many and to those she will be greatly missed and her memory they will cherish.
She is survived by her daughter, Shannon Thibodeaux and companion, Shellie Mayfield of Lake Charles; son, Robert Castille and wife, Stacey of Opelousas; companion of over forty years, Aubrey Briscoe of Opelousas; brother, Ron Hayes of Colorado; sisters, Mary Mendoza of Lawtell, Carolyn Olivier of Cameron, Loretta Angerstein of Texas, Janet Mendoza of Texas, Tammy Lorea of Texas, and Patti Bennett of Colorado; and close friend, Porche Briscoe of Opelousas. Also left behind are her beloved grandchildren, Logan Castille and Mathis Castille, and great grandchild, Laylie Castille.
