Judy Leger

Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial for, Judy Hebert Leger, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Reverend Ken Domingue will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Leo Cemetery in Leonville.

Judy, age 71, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2018. Judy volunteered at the St. Fancis Mission Store in Mamou. She loved her family and enjoyed helping anyone she could. She had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. She lived for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her companion of 20 years, Jerry Hebert of Mamou; son, Timothy Thomassee and his wife, Sheila of Lewisburg; daughter, Terrie Lavergne and her husband, Jonathan of Lewsiburg ; a special adopted daughter, Cindy Thibodeaux of Mamou; brother, Ray Hebert and his wife, Marie of Opelousas; a cousin who was raised like her brother, Larry James Hebert; sisters, Allyson Vidrine and her husband, Blaine of Opelousas, Billie Vidrine and her husband, Turling of Port Barre, and Mona Sylvester and her husband, Greg of Opelousas; grandchildren, Logan Vidrine and fiancée, Kaytlin Fontenot, and Lane and Jordan Thomassee; great-grandchildren, Karson Vidrine and Mason Soileau.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Nita Hebert; brothers, Glenn and Lil Randy Hebert; and nephew, Brant Vidrine.

Pallbearers will be Lane Thomassee, Jordan Thomassee, Logan Vidrine, Cade Sylvester, Jessie Giroir, Chad Hebert, and honoray will be Shane Lafleur.

The family requests visitation be held on Sunday, June 17, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Sammy Diesi at 6:00 p.m. The funeral home will reopen on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
