Judith Darbonne

Opelousas-Funeral services for Mrs. Judith Anne Hagood Darbonne, known to many as "Judi" will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Private burial will be held at a later date. Rev. Freddie Jack and Rev. Benny Reppond will officiate the services.
Judi was a native of Perkinston, Mississippi, and lifelong resident of Opelousas. She passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family and friends at the age of 65. She was a clinical analyst at the Opelousas General Health System for 23 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She collected coffee cups and loved to read.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Creighton Paul Darbonne of Port Barre; two sons, Craig Dion Darbonne of Mansfield; and James Paul Darbonne and wife, Nicole of Leonville; two daughters, Nancy "Sissy" Kolbe and husband, John of Vancouver, WA; and Paula "Denise" Lavergne and husband, Leroy Lavergne, Jr. of Port Barre; brother-in-law, Lt. Col. Eugene Darbonne and wife, Lenora of Opelousas; 8 grandchildren, Krystal Darbonne, Matthew Kolbe, Katie Kolbe, Amber Darbonne, Konnor Darbonne, Sage Darbonne, Leroy "Tre" Lavergne, III and Kiana, Lavergne; and 3 great-grandchildren, Lyvia Hayden, Jaxon Hayden, and Kolbe Desadier.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie James Hagood and Molly Elizabeth Parker Hagood; sister-in-law, Willie Mae Cole; grandson, Tanner Darbonne; and brothers-in-law, Noah "Clem" Darbonne, Herman Darbonne, Hillard Carriere, and "Nook" Carriere.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
The family would like to extend special thanks to her caregiver, Jeanette Banks for her wonderful care, Central Home Health, Donna Brown, Crystal Pitre, Dr.DeBlanc and Dr. Chancellor Donald.
