OpelousasA Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Jude B. Marks will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2014, in the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, LA. Fr. Kenneth Domingue and Fr. Gary Schexnayder will concelebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery.
Mr. Marks was a native of Arnaudville and a longtime resident of Port Barre. He passed away on Friday, September 26, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family at the age of 70. He was retired after working many years as an energy controller for L. E. P. A. He was previously employed at Avondale Shipyards as an estimator. He had a great love for his country and served his full term in the National Guards. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially while camping in his R. V. with his Cruising Cajuns friends. His time was cherished when he traveled throughout the United States in his R.V. He also had a love for hunting especially with his children and grandchildren at his sons camp.
He was a wonderful husband and a caring father, brother, grandfather, and friend and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 50 years, Virginia Robin Marks of Port Barre one son, Kenneth Wayne Marks and wife, Tandy of Carencro one daughter, Christina Marie Marks Prudhomme and husband, Joey of Lawtell two brothers, Francis Moise Marks and wife, Marita of Port Barre and Eugene Louis Marks and wife, Barbara of Erwinville one sister, Cecile Marks Robin of Marrero one sisterinlaw, Lucie Marks of Cecilia and four grandchildren, Noah Moise Marks, Victoria Ruth Marks, Matthew Joseph Prudhomme, and Courtney Maline Prudhomme.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Moise Marks and Cecile Noel Marks Devillier two brothers, John Edward Marks and Herman Paul Marks one sisterinlaw, Sylvia Marks and one brotherinlaw, Alvin Robin.
Pallbearers will be Gary Stoute, James Dunn, Greg Robin, Gene Marks, Kenneth Marks, Joey Prudhomme, Jude Marks and Al Robin. Honorary pallbearers will be Noah Mosie Marks and Matthew Joseph Marks.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, September 29, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday in the funeral home.
