Opelousas -A Mass of Christian Burial for Juanita Andrus Balliew will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015, in Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. MSGR. Keith DeRouen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
Juanita a native of Ville Platte, and a long time resident of Opelousas, passed away Wednesday May 6, 2015, at Camelot of Broussard Nursing Home, at the age of 87.

Mrs. Balliew was born August 16, 1927 in Ville Platte, LA., to Gilbert Andrus and Daisy Fusilier Andrus. Mrs. Balliew was a devoted nurse caring for many patients for over 40 years at Opelousas General Hospital and Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas. She is survived by her son, Gilbert James Usher and his wife, Brenda Usher of Baton Rouge, LA., daughter-in-law, Marcia Usher of Lake Charles, LA., daughter, Debbie Guillory and her husband, Gardon Guillory of Lafayette, LA. Her grandchildren, are Shawn Usher and wife, Jennifer, Shelley Johnson, and her husband, Scott; David P. Usher all of Baton Rouge, LA. Allison Schnake and her husband, John of Lake Charles, LA.; Alex Guillory and Jocelyn Guillory of Lafayette, LA. Mrs. Balliew had 8 great grandchildren, Sarah R. Johnson, Erin R. Johnson, and Emily G. Johnson, James R. Usher, Mary Claire Usher, Elizabeth M. Usher and Aime N. Usher of Baton Rouge, LA.; and Simon D. Schnake of Lake Charles, LA.

Mrs. Balliew was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Daisy Fusilier Andrus, her husband, Barry Balliew; son, David B. Usher and sisters, Bernice Giese and her husband, Eddie and Gertie Billedeaux and her husband, Avie; Hilda Manuel and her husband, Dewey.

The family requests that visitation be held at Sibille Funeral home on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and the Funeral Home reopen on Friday at 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. A Rosary Service will be held on Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. by Sammy Diesi.
