Opelousas A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Joyce Robin Stelly will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2014, in the St. Landry Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Fr. James Brady will celebrate the Mass.
Joyce was born in Frisco, LA, and was a longtime resident of Opelousas. She passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville at the age of 83. She was a member of in St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and working in her yard. She looked forward to spending time with family.
Survivors include her children, Paul Stelly and wife, Kathy of Brusly John Bob Stelly and wife, Gayle of Port Allen Curtiss Stelly and wife, Norma of Addis and Randy Stelly of Mamou and friend, Julia Deshotel of Opelousas two brothers, Curley Robin of Port Barre and Eugene Gene Robin of Leonville one sister, Bernice Eusay of Arnaudville 10 grandchildren, 3 stepgrandchildren, 7 greatgrandchildren, and 4 stepgreatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Huey Stelly her parents, Jules Robin and Bridget Artigue Robin one sister, Germaine Mayer and three brothers, Clarence Tutu Robin Harry Robin, and Leroy Robin.
Pallbearers will be Paul Stelly, John Stelly, Curtiss Stelly, Randy Stelly, Brad Stelly, Thad Stelly, Josh Stelly, and Lucas Stelly.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Thursday, October 23, 2014, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Friday, visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening in the Funeral Home.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville for their wonderful care given to Mrs. Joyce.
