Port Barre A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre, LA, for Mrs. Joyce Lee Soileau, age 68. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Port Barre, LA. Rev. Father Daniel Picard will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.

Joyce was born in Church Point, La and was a longtime resident of Port Barre. She passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at her brothers home, Ronald and Janel Courville, in Melville, La.

Joyce started out in the restaurant business early in life and worked her way up to owning one the Buckhorn Caf in Lottie, La. She loved to hostess and serve people, she had this way of making each and every customer feel like they were the most important person in the world as she did with everyone she encounter even outside of the restaurant. Her happy and bright personality just made you feel welcome and like her right away. Joyce adored her family and friends and after retirement she devoted all her time and energy into enjoying them and spending time with them. She was a wonderful wife of 52 years, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Bobby Soileau of Port Barre son, Jed Soileau and wife Patricia of Port Barre brothers, Ronald Courville and wife Janel of Melville, La., Dale Courville and wife Pat of Madison, Ala., Lawrence Stoute, Jr. and wife Pauline of Lafayette, La., Joseph Pickle Courville, Jr. and wife Rose, of Alabama sisters, Sylvia Bowy of Carencro, La., Diane Dietrich and husband Paul, Jr. of Eunice, La., Venida Collette and husband Mitch of Lottie, La., sisterinlaw, Nat Courville of Port Barre, La. grandchildren, Keisha Leger and husband Brian, Sasha Soileau and companion Ryan seven great grandchildren, Kaden, Saige, Luke, Josie, Marlie, Lila and Kyler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Courville and Lillie Jagneaux Stoute step father, Lawrence Bee Stoute, Sr.brother, Donald Courville.

Pallbearers will be Jed Soileau, Dale Courville, Lawrence Stoute, Jr., Brian Leger, Ryan Coulter and Rod Courville.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Janel and Ronald Courville for opening their home and all the special care and compassion given to Joyce and the family during our time of need.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Sunday, August 12, 2012, from 4 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continued from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home immediately following a eulogy will be read by Christian Courville and a time of reflection from family and friends on the life of Joyce.
