Joyce Marks

A funeral service will be held for, Joyce Mae Fitzgerald Marks, at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the Service. Interment will follow at the St. John Cemetery in Melville.

Joyce, age 85, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Opelousas General Health System. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and cooking.

She is survived by her sons, Johnny Marks and his wife, Connie of Opelousas, and Clifford J. "Joey" Marks, Jr. of Opelousas, daughters, Carolyn Curtis and her husband, Harold of Oklahoma City, Ok., Vera Thornton and her husband, Garrett of Chickasha, OK, Barbara Marion, and her husband, Daniel of Myrtle Beach, S.C., brothers, E J Fitzgerald of Krotz Springs, Donald Fitzgerald and his wife, Helen of Washington, State, Gerald Fitzgerald and his wife, Linda of Krotz Springs, and Charles Fitzgerald and his wife, Jenny of Koutze, Texas, sisters, Belva Rose Plaisance, of Krotz Springs, Mary Ann Morrow and husband Tony of Opelousas, Maxine Fitzgerald Hagan of Krotz Springs and Gayle Morrow of Krotz Springs, nine grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifford J. Marks, Sr., her parents, Etienne and Elana Fitzgerald, brother, Fredrick Fitzgerald, sister, Betty Soileau, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas.
A rosary will be prayed on Thursday at 1:30 p.m.
