Joyce Mayer Lanclos

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Mayer Lanclos, age 75, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2009, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park.

Msgr. Melancon will officiate the service.

Mrs. Lanclos was a native of Leonville, LA, and was a long-time resident of Opelousas. She died on Thursday, January 22, 2009, in the Lafayette General Medical Center. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by three sons: Dale Lanclos and fianc, Stephanie Reed of Lafayette; James Kerry Lanclos and wife, Lucy of Opelousas; and Gene Lanclos and wife, Jennifer of Opelousas; one daughter, Melissa Lanclos Clements and husband, Thomas of Lafayette; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons: Danny and Ronnie Lanclos; daughter, Brenda Lanclos; her parents: Joseph and Hilda Lanclos Mayer; and one brother, Norris Mayer.

Visiting hours will be observed on Friday, January 23, 2009, in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas from 4- 9 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m.-services. A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
