Joyce Guillot Sons

Joyce Ann Guillot Sons, 77 a resident of Baytown, Tx died Tuesday, April 27, 2021 peacefully at Methodist Hospital in Baytown, Tx.  Joyce was very blessed and lived a full life, abundant with many blessings, including her late husband, Pastor Bradley Sons, who died in 2013, and everyone that was part of her life.  She was born in Alexandria, La, lived in and around the Lafayette area most of her life, including Sunset and Duson, La, before moving to be near family in Baytown, Tx, after her husband passed away. She was an active member of Family Life Church in Lafayette, LA and Mercy Gate Church of Mont Belvieu, Tx, after she moved to Texas. She had an insurmountable faith in God, had a big heart, and always had a big smile for everyone.  She was an inspiration to us all.

She is survived by her daughter Laurie Prejean and husband, Chad of Baytown, Tx; two step daughters, Kimberly Norwood and husband, Justin of Prairieville, LA; and Karen Thibodeaux and husband, Starsky of Lafayette, LA; five grandchildren, Colin, Katie, Keller, Molly, and Karson; Nieces and Nephews, Cindy Cobb Smiley and husband, Michael; Dwayne Cobb; Mitchell Cobb; Rogena Hartley and husband, Rick; her half-sister, Sharon Dozier of Addis, her half-brother, Dale Guillot and many great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband, Bradley Sons; her parents, Claude Rodney Guillot and Lollie Richard Guillot; her sister and brother in law, Jacqueline Guillot Cobb and Tyrus Cobb, Jr.; her nephews, Tyrus Cobb III, Jeffery Cobb; niece Terry Bryant Cobb; and great nephew, Jeremy Cobb.

A Graveside Service will be held at Bellevue Memorial Park, 4833 LA182, Opelousas, LA 70570 at 2:00 pm Sunday, May 2,2021., Officiating, Pastor Benny Reppond from Christian Life Church, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband, Brad and her mother, Lollie Guillot.  Flowers can be sent to Bellevue Memorial Park, 4833 LA182, Opelousas, LA 70570.
