Joseph Ervin Vin Stelly, Sr.

Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Ervin Vin Stelly, Sr. age 68, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2014, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Interment will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery. The V.F. W. and American Legion of both Leonville and Arnaudville will conduct a military service at the graveside. Rev. Perry Hubbs will conduct the services.
Joseph was a resident of Leonville. He died on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, in the Opelousas General Health System. He took a 2 year course in Industrial Electronics. He was a U. S. Army Veteran who served his country during the Vietnam War. While in the Army, he took a course in Communications. He loved to play music with different instruments especially the guitar, drums and the saxophone. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Anna Robin Stelly of Leonville son, Joey Stelly and his wife, Mechelle Courville of Corpus Christi, TX brother, Curtis Stelly and wife, Barbara Bobby of Fordouche sisters, Hazel Riley of Opelousas Essie Lee Lanclos of Opelousas and Cheryl Benoit and her husband, Harry of Arnaudville and two grandchildren, Cameron Stelly and Megan Stelly, both of Corpus Christi, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Stelly, Jr. and Celonie Lalonde Stelly his son, Mark Neil Stelly brother, Frank Lee Stelly and two sisters, Thelma Zerangue and Lucy Fitzgerald.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, July 4, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, the funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
