Port Barre Funeral services for Richard Prudhomme, age 55, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011, with a mass of Christian Burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.
Father Dan Picard will celebrate the Mass.
Richard was a resident of Port Barre, he passed away on Monday, June 6, 2011 at Opelousas General Health System. He was employed by Bourques Grocery Store. Richard loved to fishing, and his truck was his pride and joy.

Survivors include his mother Hattie Belle Stoute of Port Barre, one brother, Clifford Eldridge of Eunice.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lyness J. Prudhomme, maternal grandparents, Clifford and Eleanor Coke Eldridge, his paternal grandparents, Homer and Aline Prudhomme.
A Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday morning in the Sibille Funeral Home chapel.

The family requests that visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Thursday, June 9, 2011, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
