Joseph Joey Prather

Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Ernest Joey Prather, Jr, age 56, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2008, in the St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park of Opelousas. Msgr. Robert Romero will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial

Joey was born in Eunice, and was a long time resident of Opelousas. He passed away at 9:10 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2008, at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Joey worked for the Lafayette Parish School Board as a Systems Analyst, he received BS degree from UL of Lafayette. Joey served on the Advisory Committee for LSU-E in their Computer Department. Joey was a great husband, father, son, brother and friend to all those that worked with him and just knew him. He is going to be sadly missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Seeta Kuber Prather; sons, Benjamin Scott Prather, Jonathan Paul Prather, Seth Matthew Prather; daughter, Lori Jo Prather; parents, Joseph Ernest and Mary Maudry Doucet Prather, Jr; mother-in-law, Joyce S. Kuber and brother, Randall James Prather and wife Cindy Prather all of Opelousas; sisters, Karen Prather Burley and husband Mike Burley, Denham Springs, Karla Prather Watts and husband Randy Watts, Gonzales and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father-in-law, Shree Kuber.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, August 10, 2008, from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening.
