Joseph Stelly

Opelousas- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Joseph M. "Boobie" Stelly at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville; visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. with a rosary at 12:00 p.m. by Fr. Austin Leger in the Sibille Funeral Home chapel. Fr. Darren Eldridge will conduct the Mass.

Joseph, age 75, a resident of Leonville, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020.

He is survived by his son, Todd Stelly and his wife, Flo, of Leonville; his daughter, Amy Stelly of Arnaudville; special friend, Viola Doucet of Leonville; brother David W. Stelly and his wife, Angela of Bayou Chicot; sisters, Marie Guillory and her husband, Peter of Leonville, Thelma Stelly and her husband, Glynn of Arnaudville, Sandra Wyble and her husband, Karlen, Sr. of Arnaudville; grandchildren, Blake J. Cascio, and Seth Badeaux; great-grandchildren, Natalie Person, Brandon  Menard and Hunter Cormier; great-great-grandchildren, Vance and Elliott; as well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mervin J. and Thelma Stelly; his friend and former spouse, Isabelle Moore Stelly; sister, Vivian Stelly Moreau and Connie Stelly; brother, Tommy Stelly; nephew, Karlen Wyble, Jr.; and niece, Melanie Guillory Guidroz.
