Joseph Fontenot

Port Barre: A Funeral Service will be held for Joseph Lawrence Fontenot at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Port Barre. Fr. Clint Trahan will conduct the service.

Joseph, age 87, a resident of Port Barre, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at his Evangeline Oaks Nursing Home in Carencro.

Joseph was an avid and Eternal Optimist, saints’ fan, a member of Knights of Columbus, graduate from Port Barre High School, love to entertained family and friends at social gathering by playing harmonica.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bourque Fontenot, of Port Barre, son, Coady Fontenot and his wife, Amanda of Opelousas, stepdaughter, Trena Constantiene of Opelousas, grandchildren, Samantha Daniels, Aiden Fontenot, Wyatt Fontenot, and Ava Fontenot, step great grandson, Hunter Fontenot and soon to be great grandson, Benjamin Graves, step granddaughter, Britney Graves and husband, Tyler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Nora Lee Lahaye Fontenot.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with a rosary at 12:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre.
