Joseph Maurice Laviolette
Opelousas Graveside services for Mr. Joseph Maurice Laviolette, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2008, in the St. John Cemetery in Lewisburg.
Deacon James G. Cormier will conduct the Graveside Service.
Mr. Laviolette was a native and resident of Opelousas. He died at the age of 58 on Monday, April 21, 2008, at 5:15 p.m. at his residence. He was truck driver for Oil Center Research. He was also a collector of older model vehicles. He collected model cars and motorcycles. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his two daughters: Lisa Laviolette Shaw and husband, Troy of Carencro; and Rita Laviolette Smalley of Scott; one sister, Maudry Laviolette Perrodin and husband, Gerald of Branch; four grandchildren: Ashley Courvelle; Meagan Courvelle; Bradley Shaw; and Westley Shaw; two nephews: Shane Perrodin and James Guidry; one niece, Deanna Guidry.
Mr. Laviolette was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elaine Laviolette, and his parents: Maurice Joseph Laviolette and Aglia Marks Laviolette.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday, April 23, 2008, from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
A Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday night in the funeral home.
