Joe was born in Lewisburg, and was a resident of Opelousas. He died on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Opelousas General Health System. Joe was a member of the Elks Club of Opelousas, 1048, a member of Knights of Columbus 11270 and Usher at Queen of Angels. Joe also served In the National Guard for 6 years. He faithfully attended Our Lady of the Oak's Retreat House in Grand Coteau for 14 years with the Opelousas LawtellLeonville group. Joe was always involved in politics, especially with Sheriff Howard Zerangue. Joe was a avid LSU football fan who attended all home games with his good friend, Adolph Lagrange. Joe enjoyed cooking and tailgating before the games with many friends from Baton Rouge more than the games themselves. He graduated from T.H. Harris Technical School of Diesel Mechanics. He loved spending time with his family. Joe was extremely friendly, kind and generous to everyone. Joe was the rock of the family and was full of spirit and life. He was a very wonderful dad, son, brother, brother-In- law, and friend. Joe was passionate about growing his own muscadines and had yearly gatherings with family and friends to bottle his home made wine. He will be sadly missed by all.
