Joseph Guillory

Port Barre - A Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph Nelson Guillory will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2015, in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Fr. Curt Mallet will celebrate the Mass. Military funeral honors will follow the service.

Nelson was a resident of Port Barre and recently moved to Watrous, New Mexico. He passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015, at the age of 68. Nelson enjoyed being at the camp with his buddies, hunting, crawfishing, cooking, and gardening. He adored his grandchildren with all of his heart and will be sadly missed by his many loved ones and friends.

The readers will be Layne Guidroz Godchaux and Morgan Guillory. Gift bearers will be Alicia Morain Lomas and Allyson Briley Guillory. Musical selections by Sharee D. Hunter and Nichole H. Hatten.

Survivors include his wife, Veronica Barron Guillory of Port Barre; his children, Nelson Grantt Guillory and his wife, Allyson of Watrous, New Mexico, and April Guillory Guidry and her husband, James, "J" Jr., of Port Barre, step-children, Senior Master Sergeant Kenneth Morain and his wife, Becky of Roy, Washington, and Alicia Morain Lomas of Youngsville; four grandchildren, Morgan, Reese, Jenna, and Jada; three step-grandchildren, Rylie, Slaydon, and Sydnie, and a host of nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nestor and Hazel Stelly Guillory.
Pallbearers will be Thad Richard, Kenneth Morain, James "J" Guidry, Jr., Marty Tays, Robbie Gaudet, and Shane Guillory.

Visitation will begin on Friday, August 21, 2015 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and will reopen on Saturday at 8:00 AM until time of service. A rosary service will be held on Friday at 7:00 PM.
