Joseph Gordy Guidry

Washington, La Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Gordy Guidry, 87, will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, July 24, 2006, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington, La with a Mass of Christian Burial and burialentombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington, La.

Rev. Albert Nunez will conduct the services.

Mr. Guidry, a resident of Garland, La, died at 8:00 am, Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Drs Hospital of Opelousas, La. after a brief illness. Mr. Guidry during his lifetime worked as a farmer and a roughneck. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be sadly missed by his family and all that knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife, Adele Stelly Guidry of Garland, La.; sons, Joseph Clinsey Guidry and wife Janet of Lake Charles, La and Kernel Guidry and wife Christine of Garland, La; daughters, Dolores G. Reviere and husband Carlton of Garland, La, Gornel Soileau and husband Dale of Garland, La, and Connie Miller and husband Franklin of Albany, La.; sister, Magnolia Guidry Miller of Church Point, La and 15 Grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Mr. Joseph was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Anthony Reviere.

Visiting hours will be observed from 9:00 am on Sunday Morning until 10:00 pm Sunday night. The Funeral Home will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday Morning until 9:30 am and then the Service will begin at 10:00 am in the Church. ... A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Sunday night.
