Opelousas Joseph (Joey) Levy Fontenot II, a highly skilled mechanic and lifelong resident of Opelousas, Louisiana has peacefully, yet unexpectedly passed away in his sleep at his residence on the night of May 1st, 2020.

He is survived by his two sisters, Geralyn Soileau and Susan Bergeaux; His sons, Derrick Fontenot, Jordan Fontenot, and Harley Fontenot; Grandsons, Hendrix Fontenot, and Forest Fontenot; Daughters-in-law, Erin Wilson and Madeline Robin; nephew Damien Tate; nieces Jennifer Soileau, and Janet Soileau; close friends, Bubba Richard, Ken Ortego, and Jeff Castille; and his two pitbull companions, Lugnut and Casper. He is predeceased by his wife, Kim Dupre Fontenot; parents, Joe Fontenot and Clemmie Fontenot; and close friend R.J. Lafleur.

Joey was an extremely skilled mechanic, an amazing father and grandfather, and an avid lover of Harley Davidson motorcycles. He thoroughly enjoyed eating cajun cuisine, his favorites being gumbo and boiled crawfish. Above all, he especially loved spending time with his family, friends, and his dogs. He was an extremely intelligent man who knew how to solve any problems life threw his way, and never hesitated to lend a helping ha nd to those near and dear to him. He will most certainly be deeply missed by his family and friends, and all who knew him.
