Joseph Elvin Fontenot

Opelousas Funeral services for Joseph Elvin Fontenot, 77, will be held at 2PM Monday, October 30, 2006, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas with burial in the Myrtle Grove Cemetery in Opelousas.

Rev. Angelo Cremaldi will conduct the services.

Joseph Elvin Fontenot, a resident of Opelousas and native of Ville Platte, died at 4:05AM Friday October 27, 2006 at Opelousas General Health System.

Mr. Fontenot was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country bravely during the Korean conflict.

Survivors include: Wife Edna Hooks Fontenot of Opelousas, son James Dwight Fontenot and wife Shelia Beadle of Opelousas; daughter Peggy Dickson and husband Ronnie of Opelousas; two sisters Edna Bell Fusilier of Ville Platte and Betty Tassin of Alexandria; four grand children James Lance Fontenot, Nancy Rebecca Soileau, Nathlie Nicole Fontenot and Thomas Lee Fontenot; two great grandchildren, Morgan Alyse Soileau and Meghan Elizabeth Soileau.

Mr. Fontenot was preceded in death by his parents Eustice and Modest Brignac Fontenot.
