He was a parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church and served faithfully as an usher at weekend Mass for many, many years. Wyvos was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Opelousas for over 40 years and served in every officer capacity in the club during his tenure while also being named Kiwanian of the Year several times over that span. He took great pride in serving for over 25 years as a chairman of the John Bradley Memorial Kiwanis Football Jamboree, which raised money for local schools and provided funds for student scholarships. For his lifelong service to the community, Wyvos was named as Humanitarian of the Year by the St. Landry Parish Chamber of Commerce in 2010.
