Opelousas -A Memorial Service for Joseph Elick Dupre will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Sibille Funeral Chapel in Opelousas. Fr. Austin Leger will conduct the Service.
Elick a native of New Orleans and a resident of Leonville, LA., passed away on January 11, 2016 at the age of 74, in Atlanta Georgia after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Dupre, daughter, Lynn Huff and husband, Ralph Huff, sister, Mary Gail Boudreuax and husband, Roderick Boudreaux, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Elick is preceded in death by his parents, Elta Angelo Dupre and Marie Bordelon Dupre, sister, Betty Dupre LeBas, and brother, Nelson Dupre. He was loved by many nieces and nephews. He loved spending time outside, repairing anything that wasn't in working order, and he loved taking pictures and video for all the family gathering. Elick dearly loved his dog, Teddy Bear.
A special thanks to Mary Gail and Lynn, for making the last weeks of his life filled with joy and happiness and giving him the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A rosary service will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.
