Port Barre Funeral services for Joseph Dewey Marks, Jr., 46, will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, October 18, 2006 in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.

Joseph Dewey Marks, Jr. a resident of Port Allen, died at 8:00PM Sunday October 15, 2006.

Mr. Marks was employed by his nephew Todd Marks, owner of Bayou Transportation Service in Pride, La. He also worked with his brother on his sugar cane farm. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Marks was killed as a result of an automobile accident while driving home from working on his brothers farm.

Mr. Marks was a very loving father and son and enjoyed spending as much time as he possibly could with his family.

Survivors include: parents Joseph D.,Sr. and Neva Kimble Marks of Port Barre; wife Sandra Moss Marks of Saint Lucia, Florida, son Joshua Eric Marks of Port Barre; two daughters Casey Marie Marks and friend Cody Carriere of Port Barre, Kimberly Nicole Marks of Port Barre; two brothers Nelson Marks and wife Janice of Lakeland, LA and Steve Marks and Tammy of Lakeland, LA; a sister Mrs. Donna Devalcourt and husband Ferrell of Napoleanville, LA. Mr. Marks is also survived by 2 nephews and 6 nieces.

Visiting hours will be observed from 3-10PM on Tuesday October 17, 2006 and reopen at 8AM on Wednesday until service time. A rosary will be recited at 7PM on Tuesday evening.
