Joseph Darbonne

Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Dallas Joe Darbonne, age 66, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, LA. Interment will follow in the St. Bridget Cemetery. Father Ted Broussard will celebrate the Mass.
Mr. Joe was a native of Lawtell, was a longtime resident of Baton Rouge, and was currently residing in Lawtell. He died on Friday, November 25, 2011, at his home. He was the owner of Beas Income Tax of Opelousas and previously worked for H R Block for over 27 years. He also served his country in the National Guard.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Darbonne and JeanPaul Darbonne, both of Prairieville one daughter, Claire Darbonne Thibodeaux and husband, Scottie of Gueydan his partner, Robert J. Wilson of Lawtell one sister, Dolores Broussard of Houston, TX and two grandsons, Charlie and Andrew Thibodeaux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Bridget Bourgeois Darbonne and one brotherinlaw, Lee Broussard.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, November 28, 2011, from 2 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening in the funeral home.
