Opelousas Funeral Service for Mr. Jonathan M. Cushman, age 49, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Washington, La. Rev. Benny Reppond will conduct the Funeral Services.
Jonathan was a native of Opelousas and a resident of Eunice, La for a short time. He died on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at the Heart Hospital of Lafayette.

Jonathan enjoyed getting together with friends and family he was a very loving and gentle man. One of Jonathans greatest loves was working the cattle with his dad on their cattle farm and serving as a volunteer fireman. Jonathan loved going and visiting at Funeral Homes throughout the area. He was friends with many of the owners and funeral directors. Jonathan loved his wife with all his heart, she was so devoted to making his life better and in taking care of Jonathan as his health began to fade. Jonathan loved to talk to all of his friends on the phone when he was unable to go and visit he is going to be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Eva Venable Cushman of Eunice father, Luther Cushman of Eunice and his many friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death his mother, Betty Jean Hudson Cushman maternal grandparnets, John and Lena Hudson paternal grandparents, Charlie and J. Cynthia Cushman special aunt, Margie Kees and a cousin Lauri Jean.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Venable, Tommy Savoie, Darrel Riveria, Seth Bernard, Brian Keith Bernard and LaDarius Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Will Thomas and Wayne Guillory.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, March 9, 2014, beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral home will reopen on Monday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
