John Walton, Jr.

Bayou Current- Funeral Service will be held for, Mr. John "J.T." Walton, Jr., age 80 will be on Friday, February 1, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. in the Atchafalaya Presbyterian Church in Bayou Current. Pastor Dean Rydbeck will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Mr. Walton extended in eternal rest on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 joining his beloved wife Patricia (Patsy) "Honey" Walton.

J.T., brother, uncle brother, Papa; believed in the blessed hope of his lord and savior and witnessed to many on his behalf. After graduating from Melville High School, he enlisted in the Army Air Force and was stationed on the island of Okinawa, Japan at the Kadena Air Base; where he served as a jet plane mechanic. He then moved and resided in Melville, LA., where he opened Walton's Air Condition and Refrigeration owning & operating it for over fifty years. He was also the President of Merchants and Farmers Bank of Melville, as well as an elder of Atchafalaya Presbyterian Church. J.T. was an avid hunter and fishmen who loved to work his land and had a passion for farming and raising cattle. J.T was called to his Lord and Savior where he was born and died in Bayou Current, Louisiana.

He is survived by his two children, Rick Walton and wife, Monica of Oscar, LA and Wendy Sibille and husband, Lowell III of Bayou Current, LA; grandchildren, Blair J. Sibille and wife, Muneera of Brooklyn, New York and Saxon S. Sibille and wife, JeNaye` of Lafayette, LA; great-granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Sibille; brother, Don Walton and wife, Sharon of Baton Rouge, LA; and sister, Nellie Blair of Denham Springs, LA.

Mr. Walton was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia "Pasty" Walton; his parents, John Thomas "JT" Walton, Sr. and Daisy Thomasson Walton; and a sister, Vella Walton White.

Visitation will be held only on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday by Pastor Dean Rydbeck, Dirk Andrepont, Jon Sonbuchner, and Loren Carriere of Hope Presbyterian of Opelousas. The funeral home will not reopen on Friday; family and friends should proceed straight to Atchafalaya Presbyterian Church on Friday, February 1, 2019 for services at 2:00 p.m.

Memorial donation in memory of Mr. Walton can be made to the church he loved, Atchafalaya Presbyterian Church (P.O. Box 385, Melville, Louisiana 71353).
