John Stelly

Port Barre Funeral services for John Mark Stelly, better know as Johnny, age 68, will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. Interment will follow in the St. Leo Cemetery in Leonville. Rev. Benji Richard will conduct the services.
Johnny passed away on Monday, September 5, 2011, at Opelousas General Health System.
Johnny was a butcher at a meat market for many years. He enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. He was a loving brother, uncle, and friend. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his two brothers, Marion Stelly of Port Barre and Dieu Donne Stelly, Jr. of Columbus, MS one sister, Lorette Newsome of Kosciusko, MS and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dieu Donne, Sr. and Celine Doucet Stelly three sisters, Adelaide Toot Stelly, Lorena Blue Savoie, and Mable Guillory.
The family would like to extend a special Thanks to his caregiver, Barbara Ansley and his Home Care nurses.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre on Wednesday, September 7, 2011, from 3 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will reopen on Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
