Opelousas – A Memorial  Service will be held for John Stears on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until time of service. Pastor Benny Reppond will officiate the service.

John, age 64, a resident of Washington, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, and visiting with his family and friends. He will be missed by all.

John is survived by his brother, Paul Craig Matte (Edie Kemp) of Port Barre; 2 sisters, Debra Marie Ellis of Krotz Springs and Kathy Talley (Steven Sr) of Lumberton, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents, John & Virginia Stears; and brother, Glenn Joseph Stears.. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family of Mr. Stears.
