John Saucier, Sr.

Opelousas Funeral services for Mr. John A. Saucier, Sr., age 94, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, with a Funeral service in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Rosa Cemetery, Rosa, LA. Pastor Benny Reppond will conduct the service.

John was born on November 12, 1917, in Rosa, LA. John served our Country during WWII in the U.S. Army. After his service to our Country, he entered the construction business by running heavy equipment until his retirement. John was a wonderful father, grandfather and friend. He is going to be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

John is survived by the mother of his children, Claudia Morgan of Palmetto, LA sons, John A Saucier, Jr. of Gilbert, LA daughters, Juanita Simpson and husband, Vernon of Big Cane, LA Aletha Schexnayder and husband, Brett of Palmetto, LA Kathy Leger and husband, Gerald of Palmetto, LA Brenda Saucier of Opelousas, LA his second wife, Dorothy Smith which preceded him in death is the mother of his 2 children, Rena Bonin and husband, ONeal of New Iberia, LA and Francis Tillman Saucier and wife, Hope of Gilbert, LA sisters, Myrtle Morgan of Carencro, LA Lou Wyble of Baton Rouge, LA and Helen Grundy Fisher of Baton Rouge, LA twelve grandchildren, eighteen greatgrandchildren, one greatgreatgrandchild, and a host of step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Francis W. and Ellen Chellette Saucier second wife and mother of children, Dorothy Smith brothers, Leo and Teagle Saucier sister, Conelia Morgan and great grandchildren, Patrick and Patricia Barker.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas from 9:30 am until time of service .
