John Metrejean

A Memorial service for Mr. John Larry Metrejean, 79, of Monroe, LA, will be held on Saturday September 19, 2020, in the chapel of Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA, with Deacon Dewayne Joubert officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Metrejean was born on July 17, 1941, in St. Landry, LA, and passed away on September 13, 2020, in Monroe, LA. He was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Monroe, American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and was a 4th Degree Knight. Mr. Metrejean was an Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Metrejean, mother, Mary Ann O’Donnell, sister, Shirley M. Blackwell, and brother, Msgr. Paul Metrejean, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Ann Domingue Metrejean of Monroe, LA; sons, John Larry Metrejean, Jr.of Monroe, LA; Paul Edwin Metrejean and wife Cheryl of Oxford, MS; and Christopher Scott Metrejean and wife Mandy of Shreveport, LA; seven grandchildren, Kirsten, Lorrie, Steven, Daniel, Will, Emily, and Caroline; brother-in-law, Ed P. Domingue and wife Mary of Lafayette, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:00AM until service time at Sibille Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Steven Metrejean, Daniel Metrejean, and Will Metrejean.
