Port BarreA Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Port Barre, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2012. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery with Fr. Daniel Picard officiating.
It is with great sadness that the family of John Jessie Leger, age 68, announces his passing on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Opelousas General Health System with his family by his side. Jessie was born on April 2, 1944. He worked for Parish Government where he retired. His retirement joys were cooking for his family and playing on the farm.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, of 49 years, Theresa Kidder Leger of Port Barre, his children, Kevin Leger, of Port Barre, Scott Leger and his wife, Kathern of Krotz Spring, and Kim Leger of Fordoche, seven grandchildren, Tara, Tessa, Kylie, Cameron, Scotty, Mary, John Paul

He is preceded in death by his parents Abraham and Lenora Doucet Leger, two grandchildren, Paul, and Roger Scott.

A rosary will be prayed at 11 am in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held in the Sibille Funeral Home in Port Barre on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at 9:30 am until 1:30 pm.
