OPELOUSAS- A Funeral Service for Mr. John Ferrel Lavergne Jr. will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. Deacon Jerome Collins will officiate the service. Rite of Committal will be at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, La.

John, age 69, a resident of Houston, Texas, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Memorial Hermann Hospital. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his father, John Ferrel Lavergne, Sr. of Opelousas; sisters, Joanne Lavergne Rose of Opelousas, and Dianne Lavergne Holden & husband Mark of Opelousas; nieces & nephews, Tracie, Michael, Shanda, Kellie, Christopher, Lacie, and Jade; he will also be missed by his 12 year old fur buddy, Wynston.

John is preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Bibbs Lavergne.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Recitation of the rosary will be on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. by Deacon Jerome Collins.
