John Lafleur

Lawtell Funeral services for Mr. John D. J. D. LaFleur, age 84, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. Interment will follow in the St. Bridget Cemetery.
Father Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass.
J. D. was a native of Chataignier, was a longtime resident of Mamou, and was currently residing in Lawtell. He died on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at St. Landry Extended Care Hospital.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Beverly Belleau LaFleur of Lawtell three sons: Bobby LaFleur and wife, Janice of Lawtell Donald LaFleur and partner, Felton Matt of Lawtell and Kenneth LaFleur and wife, Terese of Prairie Ronde four daughters: Rebecca LaFleur Morgan and husband, Donald of Lawtell Elizabeth LaFleur DesHotel and husband, James Rickyof Reddell Michelle Faul and husband, Michael of Prairie Ronde and Angelique Renee LaFleur and companion, Michael Beyt of St. Martinville 23 grandchildren, 17 greatgrandchildren, and 1 greatgreatgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by his son, Peter Layne LaFleur one grandchild, Cory Lee LaFleur and his parents: Sidney LaFleur and Ella Mae Manuel LaFleur.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, February 18, 2011, beginning at 11:00 a.m. for the family and from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. for the public. On Saturday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
