John H. Fontenot

Opelousas Funeral Services for John H. Fontenot, age 51, will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Father Richard Vidrine will officiate the services. Interment will follow in the St. Andrew Cemetery in Plaisance, LA.

John was a native of Ville Platte and a resident of Scott. He pas away on Friday, December 10, 2010, in the Regional Medical Center of Lafayette. He was a U. S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country. He previously worked as Head of Housekeeping at a local hospital. He collected swords as a pastime and as his hobbies, he enjoyed making model vehicles, watching tv, and doing auto mechanic work. He loved spending time with his family and all of the children. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Fontenot of Lafayette one brother, Joseph Kenneth Fontenot of Scott one sister, Judy Jones of Scott and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, Grace Brown Fontenot his parents, Wilfred Fontenot, Sr. and Mary Aline Vidrine Fontenot and two brothers, Wilfred Fontenot, Jr. and James Ricky Fonenot.
The family requests that visitation be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, December 11, 2010, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. On Sunday, visitation will continue in the funeral home from 8:00 AM until time of services.
A Rosary service will be at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening in the funeral home.
