John Fitzgerald

Opelousas Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2012, at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA, for Mr. John William Fitzgerald, known to many as Little John or John John. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, LA. Rev. Msgr. Keith J. DeRouen will officiate the services.
John was a native and longtime resident of Opelousas. He passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2012, in Opelousas at the age of 39. Spending time with his family and friends, and watching football, especially the Saints were some of his favorite pastimes. He was a wonderful, loving, and caring husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Sheila Reulecke Fitzgerald of Opelousas one son, Johnny Fitzgerald of Opelousas his parents, Johnny Fitzgerald and Mary Ortego Fitzgerald of Opelousas one brother, Timothy Fitzgerald and wife, Courtney of Opelousas fatherinlaw, Gayle Dean Reulecke of Dallas, TX motherinlaw, Susan Lea of Whitney, TX and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alex and Agnes Fitzgerald and his maternal grandparents, Willie and Dorothy Ortego.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Fitzgerald, Kyle Minvielle, Willie White, T. J. Brown, Richard Hidalgo II, and Joshua Wyble. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Fitzgerald and Paul Burleigh II.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Saturday, November 24, 2012, from 11 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Sunday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening in the funeral home.
