John Doucet

Port Barre- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for, John Weston Doucet, on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Fr. Clint Trahan will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.

Weston, age 70, passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at his residence in Port Barre. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, his passion was hunting, fishing and cooking.

He is survived by his children, Jesse Doucet and wife, Kim and Gable Doucet wife, Monica all of Port Barre; two very special godchildren, who were like sons, Josh Soileau and wife, Callie of Port Barre and Levan Doucet and wife, Dawn of Arnaudville; brothers, Percy Doucet, Jr. of Arnaudville, Felton Doucet of Fannett, TX, James Lee Doucet of Cecilia, and Robert Doucet of Port Barre; sisters, Louella Soileau and Elaine Campbell both of Port Barre, and Peggy Taylor of Arnaudville; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Janell "Red" Young Doucet; parents, Joseph Percy Doucet, Sr. and Ethel Barron Doucet.

Pallbearers will be, Josh Soileau, Levan Doucet, Galen Doucet, Travis Doucet, Scottie Taylor, Jake Doucet, and honorary, Malcolm Doucet.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 17, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. with an all-night wake until time of service on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening.
