Opelousas– A Funeral Service will be held for John Kenneth Davenport on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. Pastor Dean Rydbeck of Hope Presbyterian Church will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.
Kenneth, age 76, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 29, 2022, at his home with his loving family by his side. He will be missed by all his family and friends.
Kenneth is survived by his loving companion of 20 years, Carol Chautin; mother, Edna A. Davenport (Leedy) of Joppa, Maryland; sister, Sherry Davenport Backof (Jerry) of Forest Hill Maryland; nieces, Karena Lynn Curtis, of Maryland, Shellie Aileen Powers (Robert) of Maryland; 6 grandnieces and nephews. Also servived by Carol children who aided in care of Kenny, Carrie Bowser, Joseph Chautin, III, Johanna Rees, John Chautin, Elisha Castille, and Joshua Chautin.
Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, John Davenport, grandparents, Athel and Ruth Leedy, and Maury and Stella Bussell, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The wake will resume on Wednesday, at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
