John Brasseaux

OPELOUSAS- A Funeral Service for Mr. John Ivan Brasseaux, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Deacon Jerome Collins will conduct the service. Burial will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.

Mr. Brasseaux, age 90, a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at Prompt Succor nursing home surrounded by his loving family. He worked as a Custodian for the St. Landry Parish Health Unit up until his retirement. Following his retirement he took pride in doing volunteer work at Senior Village Nursing Home. In his early years Mr. John enjoyed playing cards with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his sisters, Dessie Vidrine and Myrtle Dupre, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rene and Lula Brasseaux; brother, Layton Brasseaux and sister, Pearl Marino.
