John Benoit

Opelousas– A Mass of Christian will be held for John Benoit on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Fr. Greg Simien will officiate the Mass. Visitation will be from 10:00 until Mass time in the Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.

John, age 85, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

John is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mrs. Joyce Olivier Benoit of Rayne, daughter, Stacey Thibodeaux and her husband Stuart of Rayne, one brother, Elrick Benoit and his wife Dot of Vidrine, sister, Orelia Thibodeaux, of Cankton, grandchildren, Abbie and Michael Thibodeaux, godson, Ricky Matte and his wife Kathryn of Iowa, and his outdoor buddy and friend Darrel Dupre and his wife Debbie of Ville Platte.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Edith Lanclos Benoit.
