GRAND COTEAU- A Funeral Service will be held for, Ms. Joan Gutsmeidl, on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Grand Coteau. Deacon Dwayne Joubert will conduct the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date at St. Charles Cemetery in Grand Coteau.

Ms. Joan, age 73, passed away on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center with her loving family at her side. She served her country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. Joan retired with the United States Postal Service and was a well-known and beloved postal courier. She always enjoyed spending time reading a good book. Joan will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Keith and Michael Norman; brother, Frank Gutsmeidl; and two grandchildren, Logan and Marley Norman.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Margarita Estancona Gutsmeidl; and her two daughters, Victoria and Christine Norman.

The family requests visitation be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home in Grand Coteau. The funeral home will reopen on Friday at 8:00 a.m. until time of service.
