Jimmy Wayne DeSoto

Opelousas Funeral Services for Jimmy DeSoto, age 43, will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel of Opelousas. Interment will follow in the Bellevue Memorial Park. Rev. Benny Reppond will officiate the services.

Jimmy was a native of Opelousas and was currently residing in Erath, LA. He passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at his residence.
He worked as a Deck Hand in the oilfield for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, crabbing, and running the trout lines. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include his two daughters, Lindsey DeSoto and Chelsea DeSoto, both of Cankton his father, George DeSoto, Sr. of Opelousas one brother, George DeSoto, Jr. and wife, Vickie of Krotz Springs one sister, Gwendolyn DeSoto Thibodeaux and husband, Randall Thibodeaux, Sr. of Opelousas special friend, Paula Galtier of Erath and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his mother, Gloria LeBlanc DeSoto grandparents, Sam DeSoto, Sr. and Mariah Boudreaux DeSoto and Joseph LeBlanc, Sr. and Alice Soileau LeBlanc and one nephew, Justin Stevens.

The family requests that visitation be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Monday, December 20, 2010, from 3 p.m.9 p.m. On Tuesday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A Prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday evening in the funeral home.
