Lawtell A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2014, at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, LA, for Mr. Jimmie N. Fontenot. Rite of Committal and interment will follow in the St. Bridget Cemetery in Lawtell, LA. Rev. Father Austin Leger will celebrate the Mass.

Jimmie passed into eternity on Friday, December 12, 2014 at Lafayette General Hospital at the age of 52. Jimmie was born in Eunice, La and was a part of the familys farming industry, Jimmie was a fourth generation farmer. In the farming industry they raised soybeans, rice and cattle. He loved hunting, cooking, watching sports programs especially girls softball. Jimmie loved raising cattle and his dogs. Jimmie is going to be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Survivors include his wife, Anna F. Fontenot of Opelousas father, George L. Fontenot of Opelousas sons, Jordan Fontenot of Lawtell, Jonathan Fontenot of Lawtell daughters, Amanda Beth Fontenot of Opelousas, Sara Faye Fontenot of Opelousas, Molly Fontenot of Lawtell brothers, Gerald Fontenot and wife Mary of Lawtell, Randy Fontenot and wife Jamie of Lawtell, Michael Fontenot of Opelousas sisters, Diana Vidrine and husband Darryl of Stafford, Va., Jenny Fontenot of Lawtell and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane Francios Fontenot brothers, John, Kenneth and Steven Fontenot.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, December 14, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday evening in the funeral home.
