Jimmie Myers

Opelousas A celebration of life service for Jimmie F. Myers, age 66, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014, in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bihm Family Cemetery in Waxia, LA. Father Austin Leger will officiate the Service.
Mr. Myers was born on December 13, 1947 and died at home on July 24, 2014 after a long battle with cancer. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Mr. Myers loved hunting, fishing, camping and cooking for his friends and family. He worked 40 years in gas and waterline construction.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Mrs. Cheryl Bihm Myers of Opelousas, his children Jeremy and his companion, Erica Stelly of Opelousas, and Monique Myers Terri of Port Barre, a brother, Glyn Myers and his wife, Ellen of Eunice, his sister, Cindy Myers and companion, Patsy Aucion of Eunice. He has 2 grandchildren, Sydney Adysen and Colin Layne Myers and stepgrandson, Spencer all of Port Barre.

He was preceded in death by brother, Mitchell Myers and his parents Elton and Jeanne Leger Myers.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Friday, July 24, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday evening in the funeral home.
