Opelousas Funeral services for Jessie Mae Dupre, age 89, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2011, with a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church in Washington. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Father Albert Nunez will celebrate the Mass.
Mrs. Jessie was a native of Redell, La and was a longtime resident of Washington. She died on Friday, November 18, 2011, at Opelousas General Health System surrounded by all her love ones.
She loved to go fishing, her real passion was her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and cooking for her family and friends. She was a very special person to many people. She will be sadly missed by all her loved ones.
Survivors include her loving husband of 70 years, Emile Boo Dupre of Washington, La., her daughters, Janice Hargroder of Washington and Brenna Dee and husband, Byran Lalonde of Lafayette, one sister, Dorothy LeBlanc of Opelousas, six grandchildren, two step grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sirus and Matile Manuel Soileau.
Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Sunday, November 20, 2011, from 10 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. On Monday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.
