Lawtell Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Jesse Ford Bourgeois age 71, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday February 12, 2009 at the St. Bridget Catholic Church, followed by interment in the St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery. The Reverend Dan Picard will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.

Mr. Jesse was a native of and a life time resident of Lawtell. He lived and worked in Lake Charles for a short time. He passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2009 at his residence.

Mr. Bourgeois was a United States Air Force veteran having served his country during a time of peace. He was the owner of the Bourgeois TV repair service in Lawtell and also worked for C C Audio and Video in Lake Charles and also worked for the Railroad for a few years. He loved to play the Accordion, doing carpentry work, and loved collecting coins. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and loved his siblings, nieces and nephews. He was a wonderful friend to many people in and around the Lawtell area. He loved his family and spending time with them. He will be sadly missed by family and many friends.

Survivors include daughters, Jessica Lynn Bordes and husband Pat or Rayne, Hope Ann Bourgeois of Pearland, TX.; brothers, Albert Bourgeois and wife Patricia of Texas City, TX., Leonard Bourgeois of West Lake, La., Melvin Bourgeois and wife Kim of Oklahoma City, OK., Martin Bourgeois, Jr. and wife Elaine of Port Barre; sisters, Ruby Cristler of Lawtell, Rosemond Risher of Lake Charles; two grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Ada Matte Bourgeois, Sr.; grandchild, Trey Patrick Bordes; brothers, Delvas Bourgeois and James B. Bourgeois.

Visiting hours will be observed in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas on Wednesday February 11, 2009 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and visitation will continue from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

A Rosary service will be held on Wednesday night at

7:00 p.m.
