Jerry was a dedicated Tool Pusher, known for his hard work and commitment to his career. Colleagues and friends alike admired him for his professionalism and integrity in the workplace. However, it was his personal life where Jerry truly shined. He was a loving person, cherished by all who had the privilege to know him. Known for his big heart, he was particularly adored by his nieces and nephews, who brought immense joy to his life.

In his leisure time, Jerry enjoyed hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and foster lifelong friendships. His passions extended beyond the outdoors, as he found happiness in gathering with family and friends, creating lasting memories that now carry forward his legacy of love and kindness.

Jerry's family includes his cherished children, Shawn Sonnier of Texas, Tyson Sonnier (Kristen) of Oscar, LA, and Victoria Sonnier of Lafayette. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Alex Murray, Jagger Sonnier, Zane and Madden Sonnier, Alexander DeBlanc, III, Zayden, and Davella Casse, and Kiyoe Sonnier. Jerry will be deeply missed by his brothers, Bobby Sonnier (Jenny) of Port Barre, Kirby Sonnier (Brenda) of Mamou, and Eddie Sonnier of Port Barre, along with his sister, Debbie Buckley (Randy) of Port Barre.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Kiyoe Sonnier, whose love and guidance shaped the remarkable man that Jerry became.
