Jerilyn Jeri Andrus Shamroy

Opelousas Funeral services for Mrs. Jerilyn Andrus Shamroy, known to many as Jeri, 64, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Holy Sepulcher Mausoleum.

Father Angelo Cremaldi will officiate at the services.

Jeri was born in Opelousas and was currently a resident of Opelousas. She died on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at 9:06 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette from complications from heart surgery.

She was a retired social worker with over 30 years of service. She worked and lived in Cincinnati for the last 20 years. She was also a member of the Opelousas Garden Club.

She is succeeded by her mother, Germaine Jeri Andrus of Opelousas; one sister, Anna Belle Andrus Mansfield of Harvey; one brother, George Larry Andrus of Opelousas; and by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and her many friends.

Her husband, Stephen Shamroy passed away 2 years ago; and her father, Grady Andrus in 1990.

Visiting hours will be observed on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. On Wednesday, visitation will continue from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
