Jeanette Ta Soileau
Port Barre Funeral services for Mrs. Jeanette Ta Soileau, the former Jeanette Marie LaHaye, 79, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2006, with a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Church and burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Port Barre.
Fr. Nicky Trahan will conduct the services.
Mrs. Soileau was a native and life-long resident of Port Barre. She died at 3:10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at St. Landry Extended Care Hospital of Opelousas. Jeanette was a homemaker and will be sadly missed by her family.
Musical selections will be provided by Julie Broussard and Phyllis Simar. Songs will include: Amazing Grace, Hail Mary, Be Not Afraid, On Eagles wings, and Here I am Lord.
Mrs. Soileau is survived by one son James Jimmy Arceneaux and his wife, Kelly; and a granddaughter, Khloe; all of Prairieville, LA. One brother, Perkins LaHaye and sister-in-law, Georgia; and one sister, Theolia Kavalier all of Port Barre. Jeanette is also survived by three very special nieces that were like daughters: Gloria Bazar, Lynn Briley, and Cheryl Vickers, all of Port Barre and a host of very special nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Boora Soileau; her parents, August and Alzaria Carrier LaHaye; four sisters: Mable Prathier, Gertie Mistric, Rose Darbonne, and Margie Roy; and one brother, Joseph Joe LaHaye.
Visiting hours will be observed from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 20, 2006 in the Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre. Visitation will continue on Friday from 7:00 a.m. until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home.
