Jeanette Mable Curtis

February 21, 1943 — December 16, 2023

Jeanette M. Curtis, 80, of Amarillo, TX died peacefully on December 16, 2023, at BSA Hospital, Amarillo, Texas. In lieu of a wake, Graveside services only will be held Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Methodist Cemetery in Melville, Louisiana. Following the Graveside services, we ask family and friends to join us at the Methodist Church, Melville, Louisiana for fellowship and refreshments.

Jeanette was welcomed into this world on February 21, 1943, in Shreveport, Louisiana by her parents Welborn & Annie Curtis. She graduated from Melville High School in 1960. After graduating, Jeanette worked for many years as a Dental Assistant until she joined the team of her beloved brother Harold. Jeanette had a long career at Tower Tech Inc., retiring from her accounting position there in 2017. After retirement, Jeanette relocated to Amarillo, Texas to be closer to her youngest daughter.

Jeanette loved to crochet and made countless baby blankets, sweaters, hats, doilies, and many other beautiful items. She enjoyed afternoons at the movie theater and was the family expert on movie trivia. Jeanette also loved her weekly Saturday girls’ day out with Shannon and Cyna, shopping and eating lunch. Her favorite times were when the family gathered for birthdays and holidays, playing games, and enjoying time together. Jeanette spent the final years of her life surrounded by loving family and friends.

Jeanette was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, Louis Curtis, L J Curtis, Kenneth Curtis, and one sister, Norma Jean Stuart. Survivors include her brother, Harold Curtis & wife Carolyn of Oklahoma City, OK, and her daughters, Ramona Thomas of Oklahoma City, OK, Tracy Fuller-Breese of Dallas, TX, & Shannon Trenfield & husband Aaron of Amarillo, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jayme Thomas, Craig Thomas, Shannon Wilson, Max Wilson, Katie Fuller, Graham Trenfield, Cyna Trenfield, and many nieces, great-nieces, nephews, and great-nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Jeanette to the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice.

Arrangements will be provided by Sibille Funeral Home, 2309 George Drive, Opelousas, LA.
